First Place in Schools’ Art Competition!
Each year, local schools are invited to take part in an art competition to celebrate Trevithick Day. This year, Year Four created amazing 3D models, silhouette pictures, sketches of engine houses, and illustrated factsheets. The judges were extremely impressed, and awarded our St John’s School entry first place! Congratulations on your winning entry, Year Four!
Year Three Cake Sale
Today, Y3 held a cake sale to raise funds for a ‘Roman Invasion’ (coming soon!). Thank you to everyone who contributed cakes to sell, and who came along to support Y3 in their fundraising. The Romans have now made enough money to carry out a successful invasion of St John’s School, so watch this space.
Trevithick Day Children’s Dance
Well done to the Year Five and Year Six pupils who represented St John’s School in this year’s Trevithick Day Children’s Dance. You all did a fantastic job! Thank you as well to the members of staff who marshalled at the event, and to the parents and carers who supported us.
Year Five’s St Ives Trip
On Monday this week, Year Five travelled by train to St Ives. They had a great (although rather windswept!) time collecting items for their art topic ‘the Cornish Coast’. Look out for their finished pieces of art soon!
