Our new topic is Easter. We will learn about the 50 days following Easter Sunday when we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection and his ascension into Heaven.
Along with the essential sign of the empty tomb, the resurrection of Jesus is witnessed to by the women, who first encountered Christ and proclaimed him to the Twelve.
While being an historical event, verifiable and attested by signs and testimonies, the resurrection . . . transcends and surpasses history as a mystery of faith. Christ manifests himself to the disciples, making them his witnesses to people.
On Monday we recreated the moment when the two Marys found the tomb rolled away and the angel told them that Jesus had risen from the dead. We made Easter gardens in the grounds of the school using natural materials.
