St John's honours Our Lady

Our annual liturgy in honour of Mary Our blessed mother, takes place Wednesday 23rd May at 1.15. We will process from the school to our school garden statue of Our Lady, then on to church, where the main body of the liturgy will take place. We warmly invite all families and parishioners to come and join this celebration in honour of Our Lady.

We are approaching our big day. Mary is ready decorated with flowers – special thanks again to Mrs Haynes and Mrs Keast for once again spending their own time arranging the flowers for this. Thanks also to Mrs Ash and some children who helped prepare the statue of Our Lady in the school grounds for the day.

We invited parents and parishioners to meet us in the front of the school ready to gather in front of the statue before continuing the procession into church.

Once again, we were lucky with the weather. The sun shone warmly on us as we processed from school into the church. There, we sang songs to Our Lady, shared special prayers to Our Lady, and prayers she asked us to say. Y6 led this liturgy with reverence: reading and crowning the statue of Our Lady.

We warmly thank all our families and parishioners who attended: the church was full to bursting and the singing was truly uplifting.
