We are a group of parents, staff and friends of St Johns who arrange fundraising and social events for staff, pupils and their families.
We hold a variety of fundraising events throughout the year ranging from coffee afternoons to the very popular and successful Christmas craft fair. Money from these events is used to buy equipment such as playground games and to support clubs and activities in school. We also fund raise for larger projects such as the play trail at the front of the school. We are always keen to consider requests for funding from staff, children and parents and are keen to hear from anyone with new fundraising ideas.
We aim to hold at least one social event each half term as we believe the strong community at St John’s is one of its biggest strengths. Keep an eye on our page on the school website, the school newsletter and text service for details of future events.
There are many different ways you can get involved with the PTFA depending on the amount of time you have available. You can:
- Be a full member attending meetings, planning and helping at events. There is no need to be voted into this role just come along to the next meeting (publicised in the newsletter, by text and on the website)
- Volunteer to be a helper at events. This involves less time commitment but is a valuable contribution as the more help we have at events the better. Helping could be baking cakes, making tea, serving refreshments, washing up, setting up tables chairs etc.. If you are interested please let any member of the PTFA know!
- Maybe you have loads of great fundraising ideas but are unable to give very much time. if so speak to any PTFA member and they can share your ideas with the rest of the group or just come along to a meeting to share your thoughts and we can all work together to bring your ideas to reality.
- offer a particular skill you may have; this could be face painting, DJ’ing discos, bingo calling, cake making and superb BBQ skills. The list is endless!
Whatever you feel you can offer we would love to hear from you!
