The season of Advent is approaching: this is a 4 week period of preparation for the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and the season of Christmas. Each week during Advent, we will be focusing on the Advent themes of joy, peace, hope and love. Y6 – organised by our head boy and girl – will be leading a Jesse tree circle prayer time for the school each day, helping our children understand the role of the prophets in the Old Testament in the preparation for the coming of the Messiah.
We are now in the season of Advent. Each week we light a candle and reflect on how we can prepare ourselves for Christmas during this season.
We have started our daily whole school meditation in the hall now we are in the season of Advent. Every day, we hear the story from the Old Testament, telling the stories of how God spoke to the prophets in preparation for sending his son, Jesus, to live with us. We learn about the relevant parts these ancestors of Jesus played in the story of our faith. Thanks to our Head boy and Head girl for organising Y6 to lead this.
Many thanks to Our Y6 pupils who led a very prayerful service of reconciliation for Advent this afternoon. The whole school participated prayerfully, then Fr Cadoc remained to hear individual confessions. A lovely opportunitiy to prepare ourselves for the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ at Christmas.
